UK Festival Awards 2007, together with Yourope, the European
Association of the 40 largest festivals in Europe, has awarded EXIT
as the Best European Festival.
On behalf of EXIT the Best European Festival award was accepted by
Ivan Milivojev, Production Manager, and Konstantin Polzovic, Head
Associate. The ceremony was held at the Koko club, London, with
eight hundred people present including representatives of the major
British and other European festivals. The first to congratulate
Ivan and Kole on the award was John Giddins, The Rolling Stones
promoter and the Isle of Wight festival organizer.
International public vote on the Internet chose the Best European
Festival among the nominees listing FIB Benicassim (Spain),
Roskilde (Denmark), Hultsfred (Sweden), Les Eurockeennes de Belfort
(France), Pinkpop, Lowlands (the Netherlands), Quart Festival
(Norway), Pukkelpop and Rock Werchter (Belgium).
Other categories included festivals held in Great Britain such as
Glastonbury, Reading, T in the Park and many more. The Best Major
Festival award went to Isle Of Wight, while the V festival was
awarded for the Best Line Up and Glastonbury took the award for
innovation. The full list of winners can be found at the UK
Festival Awards 2007 website.
This year saw a fourth UK Festival Awards. In 2005 and 2006 public
voted T in the Park as Best Festival, with winners awarded in many
other categories including Best Small Festival, Best Line-Up, Most
Anticipated Festival, Best Headliner etc. This year Best European
Festival category was first introduced.
Early 2006, British weekly The Observer recommended our festival as
the best in the world and an absolute must-see, while in May this
year MSN.com, second most visited website in the world, listed EXIT
fourth in their world's festivals top list.
This success is yours and ours together. Thank you for making EXIT
the best in Europe and voting for us.
Congratulations to YOU!
